Biography
Valerie E. Pinkett joined Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, in 2003. Her practice focuses primarily on defending and resolving disputes for corporations in the areas of premise liability, professional negligence, automobile/trucking and other tort litigation matters. Ms. Pinkett represents insurance companies who are involved in extra contractual/bad faith litigation matters as well.
Ms. Pinkett has first chaired and tried to verdict more than 65 bench trials and eight jury trials in Georgia's Magistrate and State Courts. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Diversity Liaison for the DRI Retail and Hospitality Committee and serves as the Diversity Co-Chair for the Firm. She speaks at several seminars to keep clients educated about trends in litigation, including the CPCU Atlanta I-Day Seminars, the Association of Corporate Counsel Georgia Chapter Seminars and Insurance Law Institute Seminars. In Spring 2007, she co-published an article for DRI In-House Defense Quarterly Magazine entitled "How to Defend Negligent Security Cases." She was also voted a Georgia Super Lawyer "Rising Star" by Atlanta Magazine in 2007, 2009 and 2012.
Ms. Pinkett obtained her B.A. in Political Science from Emory University in 1997. She earned her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2001.
