Biography
K. Martine Cumbermack joined Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, in 2007. She practices primarily in the area of workers' compensation defense. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Cumbermack practiced workers' compensation defense at another Atlanta area law firm and in Florida. She has also enjoyed working as an Assistant Public Defender, a court appointed Guardian Ad Litem and as an Adjunct Professor. Since 2000, Ms. Cumbermack has represented insurance companies, self-insureds and employers in defending workers' compensation cases in both Florida and Georgia, including serving as in-house counsel for a major national insurance company.
Ms. Cumbermack received her undergraduate degree and law degree from the University of Florida where she was a member and Vice President of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Chairperson of the Black Law Students Association Alumni Committee and was a Center for Governmental Responsibility Law Fellow. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1997 and the State Bar of Georgia in 2006.
