Biography
Douglas R. Kendrick received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, cum laude, from Auburn University. He received a Juris Doctorate degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Samford University School of Business. At Cumberland, he was a Senior Associate Editor for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and was the recipient of the Judge Paul O. Moyle Writing Award for excellence in legal writing.
Doug Kendrick joined Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, in 2011 and has a diverse practice that includes insurance coverage, bad faith and commercial litigation. He has a particularly strong background in cases involving arson, having participated in trials in both State and Federal Courts. Additionally, Doug handles catastrophic injury/wrongful death cases, product liability matters and premises liability litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Doug practiced in Birmingham, Alabama, with a respected defense firm in the area. While there, he was called upon to defend a major nursing home operator in personal injury and wrongful death cases filed throughout the State of Alabama. He also assisted in litigation arising out of large commercial transactions and accounting practices.
