Biography
Douglas A. Bennett handles general civil litigation including workers' compensation, automobile litigation, products liability, premises liability and trucking litigation. Mr. Bennett is a member of the Atlanta and American Bar Associations, as well as the State Bar of Georgia. He also is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Georgia Self Insurers Association. A frequent speaker in various practice areas, Mr. Bennett has lectured and chaired seminars for the Atlanta Bar Association and the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He is a past member of the Executive Committee of the Workers' Compensation Section of the State Bar of Georgia and served as Chairman of the Section from June 2003 to June 2004.
Mr. Bennett received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia in 1976. He also received his law degree from the University of Georgia, cum laude, in 1980, and served on the staff of the Georgia Law Review. In 2006, Mr. Bennett received a Bachelor of Arts from Georgia State University focusing on Literature.

Mr. Bennett has been named a Georgia Super Lawyer by Atlanta Magazine each year since 2004 and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 1995. Most recently he was named as one of Georgia Trend's 2011 Legal Elite. He is also AV® Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Interests/Additional Information
Long active in youth sports, Mr. Bennett has coached over 25 youth league teams in various sports. Mr. Bennett oversees the firm's Pro Bono activities, and is currently representing his second death row client in post conviction litigation.
