Biography
David L. Black joined Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, as a senior attorney after practicing at several other Atlanta law firms. The concentration of his practice is in civil litigation and insurance defense including workers’ compensation, general liability and subrogation. His practice includes defending self-insured employers.
Mr. Black graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1989. He obtained a Masters in Education from the University of Georgia in 1993 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma in 1996, where he was the recipient of the Walter F. Fagin merit scholarship. Mr. Black was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar to practice as a legal intern during his third year of law school at which time he successfully tried his first case under the supervision of his mentoring attorney. Mr. Black was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1997 and is admitted to all state and federal courts in Georgia.

Interests/Additional Information
Mr. Black and his wife have two daughters. They are active in their church and community and have served in a variety of leadership positions. They are avid college football fans and have taken up running marathons. They also enjoy golf, cycling and ballroom dancing.
